Fall Creek® is delighted to announce the appointment of Herman Louw as General Manager of the South African operation based in Paarl. Herman will lead the team in South Africa and further increase its footprint in Southern Africa.

Since launching in South Africa in 2020, Fall Creek® – a US-based company with a keen focus on blueberry genetics, plants, and grower support – has expanded its operations in the country exponentially. In his new role, Louw will be responsible for Fall Creek®’s overall operations in South Africa – building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, delivering exceptional plants from new and exciting genetic material, and promoting the company culture. Reporting to Burgert van Dyk, the Regional Director in EMEA, he will supervise the in-country Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Human Resource functions.

Louw has almost two decades of senior management experience in the fruit industry, working in planning, logistics, and marketing. Before joining Fall Creek®, he served as Director in various companies, most recently at the Hoekstra group of companies in Paarl. Louw holds a Master’s in Agricultural Economics from the University of Pretoria.

"I am very privileged to take on this role at such an exciting time for Fall Creek® South Africa. The company is becoming a major player in the local blueberry industry and is uniquely positioned to use its vast international research and development expertise to offer the Southern African blueberry producers "best of breed” plant material with exceptional eating quality marketable through the growers' marketing channel of choice. This value proposition will enable our growers to improve their product offering and bottom line," said Louw.
