The Morocco Technical Grower Support is responsible for providing technical support services to commercial customers in Morocco and the North African Territory. This position assists customers in provides technical and strategic support in developing successful blueberry. This position requires a high degree of independent professional judgment in problem solving, researching solutions, and decision-making. 


This position reports to the Product & Grower Support Morocco and collaborates closely with other managers and departments in the Company. The Technical Grower Support has frequent interactions with customers, visitors and guests of Fall Creek.  This position is a member of the Global Sales Team and represents the company to commercial customers, associations and other industry groups.


Office, field, and nursery setting. Frequent travel in the assigned territory, which includes overnight stays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  (Other duties may be assigned)

  1. Responsible for technical grower support, which includes site evaluation, pre-plant preparation, and post-plant cultural care.  This includes on-site assistance and support by phone/email. Leverage the sales and production teams to facilitate the communication of relevant information to the growers ensuring their success.
  2. Manages key commercial account relationships in the assigned territory or elsewhere as required. Anticipates needs and delivers solutions. Communicates directly with key accounts on a regular basis. Provides a high level of customer service to all commercial customers.
  3. Provides additional support to customers in other territories as required. 
  4. Is a “humble servant” to our customers and the industry
  5. May assist the Applied Research department at the off-site trial sites by coordinating plantings, providing assistance for cultural care, and variety evaluation as needed.
  6. Provides feedback to the global sales team and the Applied Research teams on variety performance as well as performance of selections in trial sites. 
  7. Assists customers with variety selection and provide support regarding the technical planification. This includes ripening time, yields, flavor, and berry quality.
  8. Works with the commercial sales and customer service teams to help qualify potential customers.
  9. Communicates nursery product timelines to prospects and existing customers.
  10. Provides feedback to management on the state of the industry in the regions served.
  11. Provides intelligence on competition and on future plans of new projects; communicates this information back to the sales team.
  12. Assists the commercial sales manager with developing the sales forecast each year, giving accurate intelligence on upcoming projects and insight into what varieties, sizes, and quantities will be needed to meet future demand.
  13. Participates as required in planning and updating of plan with production team to minimize obsolescence and maximize production of product in high demand. 
  14. Follow up with the customer service and shipping team to ensure timely delivery of orders when is required.
  15. Represents the company at regional meetings, tradeshows, and industry events.
  16. Plans and implements educational seminars for growers and customers in the assigned region as needed.
  17. Responsible for scheduling and managing visits to the nursery from existing and prospective customers within the assigned growing region.
  18. Collaborates with business development and new products on new opportunities for expanding Fall Creek business in the assigned territories and with key customers. 
  19. Supports, perpetuates and enhances Fall Creek’s core values and corporate culture.
  20. Assures the highest level of confidentiality on sensitive matters concerning the nursery.


  1. Typically requires a University degree in Business, Horticulture, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  2. Requires 2+ years of related technical experience preferably in an agricultural business.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information in formal and informal settings to peers, customers and industry leaders.
  4. Must be results driven and customer focused.
  5. Able to understand complex business, political relationships and cultural differences.
  6. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; excellent time management, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills using creativity.
  7. Ability to collaborate with other team members and maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority. Requires the ability to positively influence team decision-making. Excellent verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills in persuasion, negotiation, conflict resolution and teamwork.   8. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must have the skills to create reports, spreadsheets and presentations.

  10. Requires demonstrated knowledge of rules and regulations governing import and export, particularly in phytosanitary arena.
  11. Able to understood how industry business operates, transportation laws, and Customs requirements.
  12. Bilingual language skills in French, english & Morocco arabic. The ability to speak, read, and write in these languages. 
  13. Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a valid license plus an acceptable (insurable) driving record.

  1. Specific experience in blueberries or similar horticultural crop.
  2. Technical expertise in soil fertility, water chemistry and irrigation management, plant disease mechanisms, crop protection products and their on-farm use, or other basic agronomic practices.
  3. Previous experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP.
  4. Other desired languages: Spanish, Darija, and Portuguese
