- How long has Fall Creek™ been in business?
- Fall Creek Farm & Nursery Inc.™ was founded in 1978. We are proud to be nearing our 30th anniversary.
- How do I know what segment of the site I should focus on?
- We have segmented our site into three main categories. The “Commercial” section is for commercial agricultural fruit growers. That includes primarily those people in the agricultural industry who are growing blueberry plants for fruit production for either the fresh or processed fruit markets. The information and varieties in this section of our site is specific to these types of growers. The “Nursery” section is created to serve the needs of wholesale buyers for nursery stock growers and retail garden centers.
- We are considering commercially growing blueberries, where do we begin?
- We have a long history of working closely with our customers to advise them in planning, planting and cultural care procedures that optimizes success and profitability. We strongly encourage our commercial growers to talk with us first early on when considering blueberries as a crop or when expanding current blueberry operations. Contacting us early in the planning stages also helps us to ensure we can fulfill your order once you are ready for plants.
- How do I know which variety is best for my needs?
- We are happy to provide recommendations based on your growing operation and what markets you are targeting with the fruit. You could start by looking at our variety chart and fruit attributes to see if this helps to narrow your focus.
- We’re going to be in your area, can we stop by for a visit?
- We welcome visits from our customers; however, we do request that you call ahead to make an appointment. This will ensure that one of our team members is available to give you a personal tour. In addition, we have certain security issues and protocols in place to protect crop health that we must follow. When you arrive for your scheduled visit, please stop by our main office to register. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation with these requests.
- Fall Creek™ talks a lot about grower support. What do you mean by this?
- First and foremost at Fall Creek Farm & Nursery™, we are propagators and growers of wholesale blueberry nursery stock. However, we believe that our job doesn’t end there. Our success depends on the success of our customers. Over our 30 years in business, we have learned a lot about the commercial blueberry growing business. From initial crop planning and field design to crop health, cultural care and harvest issues, we provide our customers with knowledge to help you make informed decisions every step of the way. We can provide written materials and recommend publications and research university materials that will give you the latest information to give you a competitive edge. Please ask us early on about our Fall Creek™ Grower Support Program™.
- I just need a few plants, can I buy them from you?
- Our order minimum is $2,000. We understand that many nurseries and growers have needs that are smaller and are happy to supply you with the contact information for several of our partner growers who have smaller minimum requirements.
- I want to start with liners or small plants and grow them myself for more profit. How long does it take?
- We offer our plants in a variety of sizes from 2” cells up to No. 1 size. This gives our customers many options. Start by looking at our Fall Creek™ Growing Program™ diagram that provides more insight into transplanting and turn-around times. If you have more questions, please call us.

- What is the advantage to bare root stock?
- There are several key advantages. First, you get a finished plant with large tops and exceptional root systems which results in quicker turn around and return on investment. Second, the shipping costs are generally less than containerized larger plants because there is virtually no soil attached to the roots. They are also easier to handle and pot up upon arrival due to their light weight.
- Why do you recommend that your 2” liners are not for retail sale?
- Liners of this size are simply not sturdy enough for retail sale. Until liners are potted up and rooted through, they are sensitive to lack of water and care. Therefore we recommend to our customers they not be sold to the general public so they can optimize their success and customer satisfaction.
- Do you ever offer finished stock in any container size larger that No. 1’s?
- We do, at times, have finished No. 5 stock. These are exceptional quality plants ready for immediate retail sale. However, these are available in limited quantities so please check with our sales team. Advance notice is recommended.
- When I’m calling to get more information, who should I ask for?
- Please call 1-800-538-3001. If you are a nursery, garden center or commercial grower located in the United States, please ask for Kim Pierce. If you are calling about international orders please ask for Dick Mombell.
- How do you charge for packaging and shipping?
- For freight, packing materials and refrigerated storage (if necessary), we invoice our customers at our cost. We work with a variety of freight carriers and generally know which ones are the most appropriate and cost-effective based on your order and needs. We are happy to discuss shipping matters with you directly and can often provide advance quotes on shipping costs.
- Can I pick up my order at your nursery?
- We have many customers who prefer to pick up their orders directly from us. We request 48 hours advance notice so we can pull and prepare your order and schedule your pick-up into our loading schedules. By providing us with advance notice, we can be sure your order is ready and that loading is expedited for your convenience.
